Effort pages describe how one or more Workgroups labor over time for a defined purpose and generating projects Products. Efforts are Categorized defined by their purposes, and may also be associated with specific Places. Efforts thus describe activity at a larger scale than what is commonly described as a "project"--Our Ecosystem Funding Programs often require the division of efforts into smaller fundable projects. This undermines our understanding of whole efforts. Efforts contribute to our knowledge of Topics and efforts are diverse, ranging from legal advocacy to on-the-ground work to ongoing education programs, both funded and un-funded. We generally describe the programmatic work of institutions on Workgroup pages, but might create an Effort Page to describe an effort more fully. Effort pages can be attributed to workgroups using Acronym Categories. Effort pages are similar to news stories, and generally describe who did what, where, when and why.
Template
{{effort}} is used at the beginning of any effort page to trigger the effort page template. In addition, we suggest the use of a common structure in our Effort Page Format, and don't forget to consult our Style Guide. An effort page can begin simple and become more complex over time. To associate an effort with a set of workgroups you can use The Credit Box feature.

Knowledge creation aims to increase human understanding of ecosystems.
