Social Change is a overarching category of Efforts which aims to achieve stewardship through social mechanisms. It is distinct from Knowledge Creation in that Social Change efforts aim to organize and apply knowledge to change how social-ecological systems do work. Advocacy uses information to change opinion, while Education aims for empowerment. Coordination efforts aim to help workgroups share, coordination and collaboration, while Planning creates shared Products that memorialize the intention to do something together. In the end Funding uses market forces to finance action, and Legislation is a particular kind of effort that creates a Legal context to drive a wide range of efforts. Integrated Ecosystem Management is the reintegration of effort in a local setting, where a wide range of needs and values are achieved.
