Knowledge Creation encompasses a set of efforts that all aim to increase individual understanding. Research involves systematic observation to test hypotheses consistent with the scientific method, and Monitoring efforts focus on observing and interpreting change over time. Lessons are observations that come for field experiences. Arts and Crafts is a catchall that describes less intellectual engagements with the world, which are productive in important ways. Adaptive Management describes integrated systems of action, designed for learning. Knowledge Creation generates Products that can either deepen understanding of specific Places or contribute to synthesis on Topics.
