The riparian workgroup was developed by colleagues in the Skagit basin, who wanted to share and track knowledge among a community doing riparian restoration. They obtained operating funds for a three year period to support community development.

- Host the North Sound Riparian Conference, an annual winter one-day symposium of presentations from both practitioners and scientists.
- Management of a listserve on a google group for professionals who want to share information.
- Some of these conversations are harvested to add information to Vegetation and Revegetation section of this wiki.
