Effort pages describe how one or more Workgroups labor over time for a defined purpose often producing Products. Efforts are Categorized by their purposes, and may also be associated with specific Places and Workgroups. Efforts thus describe activity at a larger scale than what is commonly described as a "project". Our Ecosystem Funding Programs often require the division of efforts into smaller fundable projects. This undermines our understanding of whole efforts, their history, and their learnings. Efforts contribute to our knowledge of Topics and Places and efforts are diverse, ranging from legal advocacy to on-the-ground work to ongoing education programs, and may be both funded and un-funded. We may start describing the programmatic work of institutions on Workgroup pages, or may create an Effort Page to describe a program more fully. Effort pages have content similar to news stories, and generally describe who did what, where, when, why, and how. Please don't start Effort pages with a lecture about the nature of the world. Instead link to other pages.
Template
{{effort}} is used at the beginning of any effort page to trigger the effort page template. In addition, we suggest the use of a common structure in our Effort Page Format, and don't forget to consult our Style Guide. An effort page can begin simple and become more complex over time. To associate an effort with a set of workgroups you can use The Credit Box feature.
