Searching and Browsing Tips
There are are number of different ways to get around the wiki. Some familiarity with the anatomy of a page will help you. You can search, browse through pages, many of which have embedded lists, look at categories, or use a wide range of special pages that let you query the wiki for information.
- The ecosystem and human system framework provides a core of organization. These pages have many links to relevant pages.
- The Categories to which a page belongs are located at the bottom of each page. You can click on a category to see all pages in that category. You can even view the most populous categories or search for pages that intersect multiple categories
- You can browse among all pages, or among all files.
- By using the what links here link in the Toolbox on your left you can follow links backwards.
- Special:RecentChanges lets you observe what pages have been changed lately (including a character count!)
- Special:PopularPages lets you see what pages are getting the most views.
- Special:Contributions lets you look for edits by user.
- Even more special pages are available.
- There are over 2000 off the shelf extensions for MediaWiki software--make a suggestion if you want additional features.
