The Puget Sound Ecosystem Monitoring Program (PSEMP) is a collaboration of state, federal, tribal and local government agencies, non-governmental organizations, watershed groups, business, academic researchers, local integrating organizations, and other private and volunteer groups and organizations - all dedicated to monitoring environmental conditions in Puget Sound.
It is sponsored by the Puget Sound Partnership and prepares recommendations for the PSP Science Panel.

- Murphy et al 2014 provides a program critique conducted by the Ruckelshaus Center with issues and recommendations for improving PSEMP program function.
- PSEMP is responsible for managing Puget Sound Vital Signs.
Workgroups
PSEMP is organized through a series of workgroups each concerned with different issue areas.
Nearshore Workgroup
The Nearshore work group is an independent collaboration of monitoring practitioners, researchers, and data users from across the region that was formed in autumn 2013 as part of the Puget Sound Ecosystem Monitoring Program (PSEMP).
