The City of Lake Stevens is just above 30,000 citizens located on a peninsula of glacial plateau between the Snohomish Estuary and the Pilchuck River. In this way this rapidly urbanizing plateau is the headwaters for a variety of small streams and tributaries. A large portion of the city drains to Lake Stevens, which contributes to the Little Pilchuck Creek. The City of Marysville abuts to the north, and the City of Snohomish is a short distance to the south.
