The Puget Lobe of the Cordillarian Ice Sheet has dramatically affected the shape of the surface of lowland Puget Sound. This history creates landforms affecting the distribution of biota including human settlements. The Regions of the Salish Sea each have distinctive elements of this glacial legacy. WDNR with its geological authorities and management of Washington State LiDAR has expertise, images and publications.
