Around 600 people work for DES which supports all state agencies with a wide range of consolidated tasks, such as procurement, vehicle fleet management and parking, building maintenance and management, property management, real estate services, risk management, employee benefit mangaement and management of the Capitol Campus in the City of Olympia. In this role they are a major landowner in the Deschutes Estuary, and the construction lead on the Deschutes Estuary Restoration Project.
