Northwest Chinook Recovery was formed as a nonprofit corporation in 1997 by John Sayre, and was administratively dissolved in 2017. NW Chinook Recovery was involved in restoration work Haskell Slough Protection and Restoration and helped launch Qualco Energy a pioneering biogas plant, both in the Lower Skykomish Floodplain
