The City of Lacey is a sprawling town without a distinct center, within Thurston County and located among the lakes at the headwaters of the Henderson Inlet Watershed particularly, Woodland Creek.
Notes
- It used to be the town of Woodland, but in 1891 there were enough people to apply for a post office. However the town of Woodland already existed down on the Columbia River, and so the office was named Lacey, likely after the local Justice of the Peace. Woodland and Chambers Prairie consolidated and ultimately formed the Town of Lacey in 1966. (synopsis from wikipedia article)
- It is the most ethnically diverse town in Thurston County.
