Western Rivers Conservancy, founded in 1988, acquires land along rivers in the western United States to conserve habitats, protect cold water sources, and provide public access. Headquartered in Portland, Oregon, with field offices in San Francisco, Washington, and Utah, it employs 22 staff members (in 2024). The organization is governed by a 13-member board of directors. Its projects span multiple states, including Oregon, Washington, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Arizona, Nevada, and Utah.
