The legislature intends to appropriate three hundred million dollars for projects to achieve the goals of this act until June 30, 2033. The department of ecology is directed to implement a program to restore and enhance streamflows by fulfilling obligations under this act to develop and implement plans to restore streamflows to levels necessary to support robust, healthy, and sustainable salmon populations - RCW 09.94.010
- Passed to resolve the legislative deadlock when county development permits were paralyzed after the Hirst Decision.
- Resulted in the creation of the Stream Flow Restoration Program at Washington State Department of Ecology, a new source of funding within Puget Sound Ecosystem Funding
- Reinvigorated Watershed Planning initiated under the Watershed Planning Act
