We are Community Rights San Juan Islands (CRSJI) and we are working to recognize in law the Rights of the Salish Sea: the right of the Salish Sea to exist, thrive, and regenerate vital lifecycles. Rights of Nature is a legal framework to bridge ancient recognition of our human place in the web of life and our modern legal system, to shift our view of nature as property, to one that recognizes and respects nature as rights bearing.
