Langley is a small incorporated coastal city in Island County. The City is located on a system of bluffs and beaches.

Notes

  • The city as an elected 5-person city council and an elected mayor that serves as the executive of a city government.
  • There are four departments: planning, public works, public safety, and the treasurer.
  • City functions are supported by a relatively large number of commissions that provide community input on key policy issues.
  • Whidbey Island has a sole-source aquifer that provides all drinking water and irrigation needs for properties that don't have Surface water harvesting for irrigation system.
  • Coastal erosion and feeder bluff management is very relevant to the city waterfront.
