Ecosystem processes

From Salish Sea Wiki

Ecosystem processes are used in this proposed ecosystem framework to refer to the flows and transformations of materials, and the transfer of energy, that drive change in ecosystem structure. Processes are detected and measured by observing a change in structure over time. This is consistent with Simensted et al 2006, which was the basis for the Nearshore Project framework which inspired the development of the ecosystem framework used in the development of this wiki.
