Reiner Farm/Nettle Patch

The Nettle Patch is an area of open canopy Acer woodland with silt soil, and blackberry understory. The site was chosen for establishment of a herbaceous understory dominated by Urtica dioica. Work began in 2025. See Reiner Farm for social-ecological context.

Stewardship Notes

  • Bare-root rhizomes harvested from Rooted Northwest and planted the next day. The site was grubbed of blackberry and shallow trenches
