Fidalgo Bay Ecosystem

Notes[edit]

  • The west shore of Fidalgo Bay is dominated by Oil refineries and the shoreline is ringed by roads.
  • File:DNR 2008 fidalgo bay management plan.pdf describes a state management planning process.
    • It generalizes about "ecosystem processes" without identifying specific targets.
    • While sediment nourishment is described, reforestation is not.
  • There is an old railroad causeway that has been converted to a trail that changes circulation and currents that is being considered for modification. It is unclear how those changes relate to any specific ecosystem service.
  • Skagit Marine Resource Committee has been active in the system.
