Dethier, M. N., Toft, J., Faulkner, H., Leonetti, F., and E. Dawson. 2020. Railroad grade beach nourishment study. Prepared for the Estuary and Salmon Restoration Program, Recreation and Conservation Office and Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife.
Notes
- This report outlines data relative to physical habitat conditions, forage fish spawning, and invertebrate communities in response to an extensive beach nourishment experiment.
- The nourishment was placed in front of a long armored shoreline and use river dredge material as the nourishment instead of standard “fish mix” more typical of the Puget Sound region. Beach nourishment was not able to compensate for the impacts of the armor on beach habitat conditions."
