Notes

  • Yeomans' most complete and detailed writing on his concepts of landscape and parcel scale planning for farm development.
    • He describes seven scales of permanence: climate, land shape, water supply, farm roads, trees, farm buildings, subdivision, soils
    • His theories were developed in a gynomorphically old dryland landscape, with clay soils, and intermit rainfall, where grazing was the primary agricultural activity.
    • He developed integrated systems of water catchment to increase habitability, food security, and reduce fire risk.
  • Yeomans' theories strongly affected Mollison's development of Permaculture Design.
