Cascadia
The term Cascadia was coined in a geology text book by Bates McKee in 1972, and later adopted by Sociologist David McClosky to describe a Bioregion as part of the first wave Bioregional Movement in the 1980s. Because this platform aims to support a restoration community of practice, and restoration practice is driven by the distinct ecological character of place, organizing along bioregional lines is a natural strategy.
