Sahandy, S. and M. Daily. 2014. Puget Sound Partnership response to operating budget watershed proviso. Prepared by the Puget Sound Partnership for the Washington Stat Legislature.

During the 2014 Legislative Session, an Operating Budget proviso directed the Puget Sound Partnership (PSP) to “…collaborate with interested parties to review the roles of local watershed and salmon recovery organizations implementing the action agenda and provide legislative, budgetary, and administrative recommendations to streamline and strengthen Puget Sound recovery efforts.” This memo briefly outlines the Partnership’s approach to the proviso and the priority recommendations that resulted from the evaluation.

Notes

  • Includes a third party interview based evaluation of watershed based coordination bodies.
  • Includes an funding strategy for habitat, stormwater and shellfish initiatives as described in the 2012-13 Action Agenda.
