From Salish Sea Wiki

Hello everyone!

I grew up on (in?!) the Salish Sea, in central Puget Sound. I have a background in intertidal & scuba-depth marine ecology. More recently I've studied urban ecology and urban conservation, with some concentration on citizen science. My major project to come out of that graduate work is a proposal for an open participatory science project to monitor Seattle's novel seawall habitat enhancements. Since these enhancements are among the first in the world, monitoring how well they work could contribute to coastal urban conservation around the world.

I teach part-time at the Seattle Aquarium. Mostly I teach intertidal field monitoring to high school students, in the classroom and on the beach. We have students collect data for our long-term central Puget Sound intertidal monitoring program. I also do some of the data management and curation (but we need to do a much better job). We hope to find a publicly accessible home for the data soon.

I speak German well, so if you need a document translated, I may be able to do that. (I don't write it well enough to translate into German—unless you have a friendly native-speaking copy-editor.)
