argument for 'learning-by-doing challenge' -- Phicks (talk) 15:13, 2 August 2013 (PDT)

An argument that is touched on lightly, but never addressed fully, is that there are very very limited funds for monitoring and they are getting more limited by the year. In addition not all restoration shops have the capacity to implement learning projects at all sites. A more efficient and economical method is this approach, where you limit the monitoring at each site to CORE metrics that are relatively easily implemented by all restoration shops and focus the larger funds on critical uncertainties.
