Washington's salmon and steelhead fisheries are managed cooperatively in a unique government-to-government relationship between State of Washington and treaty Tribes. These rights of tribes were reaffirmed in the Boldt Decision of 1974. The logistics of harvest are negotiated in two processes: Pacific Fishery Management Council, and the North of Falcon Process.
