Part of this wiki describes human systems. We organize ourselves into workgroups. These workgroups tap into shared resources to complete efforts, defined by a scope and schedule. Often we create documents to memorialize our efforts and teach others our knowledge, about different topics. Conservation wrok is often tied to place.

Workgroups

Workgroups define themselves. They are a group of people that regularly talk, and share work toward a common goal. Workgroups may create a category using an acronym or abbreviation so they can quickly tag pages that they are associated with. Put the text "{{workgroup}}" at the top of a workgroup page and it will automatically change format and categorize it as a workgroup.

Efforts

Efforts are what workgroups do to acheive objectives. It could be a restoration project, or a scientific study, or a planning project. Efforts can relate to topics, and can generate documents, and may work in places. Start with the text "{{effort}}" to create a effort page.

Resources

Resources are various tools, technologies or archives that workgroups can use in their efforts. It could be on-line, procured, shared or private. Start with the text "{{resource}}" to create a effort page.

Our ecosystem model divides the landscape into units based on regional assessments, but people see place differently, and it is useful to group ecosystem units into larger systems. Places are pages which discribe any places not described by the proposed ecosystem management units. One of these days, we'll be able to represent our management units and places on maps.
