Notes

• No increase in density with proximity to natal delta
• Majority of Chinook from Whidbey Basin or Samish sub-populations
• Highest density observed between Bush Point and Ebey's Landing.
• Chum had the longest period of presence. There was some weak correlation of chum density with points, deeper water and high kelp (low varieties) cover.
• Chinook were mostly older fish, appearing later in the season than in Whidbey Basin, and had higher catch at locations with tidal discharge from marsh.
• The author suggests that diversity of the habitat mosaic supports nearshore species diversity.
