The Continuous Improvement effort aims to develop shared protocols for continuously improving how state and federal agency systems (such as for funding, regulation, monitoring and stewardship) provide services to local actors working on ecosystem recovery. It is inspired by Lean Management theory, where improvement opportunities are identified by people doing the work, and improvement efforts are systematically supported by shared practices for problem identification and resolution. This initiative developed from the Coordinated Investment effort. We aim We work using the resources we have--because self improvement in an intrinsic part of good government. The current iteration of this work aims to coordination effort by the Puget Sound Partnership's Ecosystem Coordination Board and the Puget Sound Federal Task Force, with the local networks supported by Lead Entities, Local Integrating Organizations, Marine Resource Committees, Strategic Initiative Leads, and Ecosystem Recovery Coordinators.

Supporting MaterialsLimited resources for project management continue to limit improvement projects linked to local integrated team requests. EPA and TNC have recently stepped up to support an Acquisition Barrier Analysis. This has inspired a proposal for a Near Term Action:
