Places are locations either within a site, like an islands within deltas, or a particular stretch of beach within a drift cell, or locations that contain multiple sites like Dabob Bay or Hood Canal Sub-basin. Most restoration or protection actions occur at the scale of a place. Good quality restoration planning increasingly occurs at the scale of sites or complexes of sites.
